Our multicultural faculty with adjunct and affiliate professors is composed of more than 50 members. They are multinational and represent most of the denominational and non-denominational churches in Protestant traditions.

Biographical Information

Dr. Jerry Hwang has served on the faculty of Singapore Bible College since 2010. He has taught a variety of courses in Old Testament and Biblical Hebrew at the master’s level, as well as participating regularly in teaching and supervising students in the ThM programme. Since 2017, he has also been the Academic Dean of the School of Theology (English).

Dr. Hwang has published books on Deuteronomy (Eisenbrauns) and Hosea (Zondervan). He also has forthcoming books on Jeremiah (Crossway), contextualization and the Old Testament (ATA/Langham), as well as an edited textbook on exploring the Old Testament in Asia (ATA/Langham). He has also published fifty book reviews, essays, and articles on various facets of the Old Testament and Asian theology. Many of these publications can be found at the academia.edu link below.

Prior to coming to Singapore Bible College, Dr. Hwang served in pastoral ministry for 9 years in the States in both Chinese and multicultural churches. He also worked as an IT consultant and software engineer for several years before entering pastoral ministry. This time spent in the marketplace and ministry has given him a passion to journey with theological students who come to SBC from different walks of life.

Dr. Hwang is married to Jackie and they have three children.
