Purpose of the Programme

In line with our overall goal, the College launched this programme in 1999. We offer Biblically-based courses which seek to integrate theology with ministry. This cost-effective programme includes Asian and Western input for ministry in the local context. The programme aims to enhance full-time workers in their personal and ministerial development in the following areas:

  • theological reflection, spiritual renewal

  • pastoral duties, counselling

  • preaching, teaching

  • leadership, mentoring

Entrance Requirements

  • M.Div. or equivalent, with a B+ grade or a minimum G.P.A. of 3.3

  • at least five years of full-time ministry experience, three of which must be in the same environment

  • minimum TOEFL score of 213 points for computer-based test (550 points for paper-based test) or equivalent

  • proven Christian character and performance

Programme Arrangement

  • a pre-course assignment of research, readings and a report are to be completed before a module commences.

  • a week of forty hours of classroom attendance for participation and presentation (e.g. seminars, symposia) in each module.

  • a post-course project or paper

Taking into account the schedule of the full-time Christian worker, the D.Min. student is allowed to complete the entire seven-module programme (including four core modules, two electives and one on "Dissertation Writing") within five years. A maximum extension of two years is possible upon payment of an extension fee subject to the approval by the Director of the D.Min. Programme.

Classes will be held annually in May and November unless otherwise specified. The four core subject areas are:

  • Character Development of the Leader

  • Communication Skills

  • Church Growth and Renewal

  • Counselling

Graduation Requirements

  • completed seven modules

  • secured an average B grade (or GPA of 3.0)

  • satisfactorily wrote and defended a dissertation of a minimun of 35,000 words

  • approval of character, spiritual development and ministry commitment from the respective faculty

Cost

The cost of each module is S$800 (S$400 for audit candidates). For students who have not completed their course work within the stipulated five years, an extension fee of S$800 must be paid for each subsequent year. Additionally, the dissertation fee is S$800. A continuation fee of S$800 must be paid for every 1/2 year beyond the initial year of writing. The College requests for a written statement indicating how the cost will be borne.
