The Doctor of Ministry (D. Min.) programme is the highest professional course to be offered by a seminary. It aims to further enhance the knowledge and practical skills of those who already possess an M. Div. degree and have been serving for some years in full-time ministry. This is intended to further raise their level of service to the community in which they reside, and to provide them the means with which they may advance the frontiers of practical theology in their chosen fields of ministry.

Toward the above ends, I heartily endorse the D. Min. programme offered by Singapore Bible College for the following reasons:

  • the programme is conducted “in-ministry” and not “in-residence”. This allows students to learn meaningfully in the context of an on-going ministry, thus providing for a more holistic mix between ministry and learning.

  • the programme is evangelical in orientation and at all times adheres to sound biblical doctrine.

  • courses, with their readings, assignments and projects, are usually derived from the Asian context thus ensuring relevance and appropriateness.

  • classes are conducted in a friendly, supportive environment to encourage participation and mutual learning.

  • students are encouraged to select dissertations that pertain to their present and future ministry, and that are in line their perceived spiritual gifts and calling. Indeed, being of a practical nature, these dissertations - which culminates the students' education in the programme and benefit from the guidance and direction of supervisors - should contribute significantly to their ministries.

  • as a college which emphasizes the mission to train Christian workers for the advancement of God's Kingdom, the fees charged are relatively affordable.
